Teenager Killed Mother After She Was Asked To Cook

An 18-year-old girl has killed her mother in a community in Rivers state, after the mother ordered her to go and cook.  According to Vanguard, the incident happened in Choba community, Obio/Akpor local government area which hosts the University of Port Harcourt.

A source close to the family revealed that the unfortunate incident had happened on Wednesday night, June 17, when the girl (name withheld) refused her mother’s order to go and prepare supper. At her refusal, a disagreement reportedly ensued between the pair and the mother was said to have slapped the teenager. In retaliation, the girl took a wooden plank and smashed it on her mother’s head.


All efforts to save the woman’s life proved abortive as she died from the injury she sustained. It was reported that the leader of the community has banished the girl from returning to the community.
